4-star safety Devin Jackson visits Oregon

Last month, Winter Garden (Fla.) First Academy four-star safety Devin Jackson decommitted from Florida. He’s now working through his recruitment once again and is coming off a notable visit over the weekend.
More than 2,500 miles separate Winter Garden from Eugene, but that didn’t stop the blue-chipper from making his way across the country to see Oregon. The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder got to spend time around head coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks as the Big Ten program looks to make a splash in his process:
Oregon currently has one DB commitment in its 2026 class via a fellow Sunshine State native in Melbourne Eau Gallie four-star safety Xavier Lherisse. It’ll look to add more to the fold and Jackson has the look of a top candidate.
More than 20 Power Four programs have offered Jackson, including Miami, Nebraska, LSU, Georgia, Texas A&M and other high-profile schools. He was committed to Florida for nearly 10 months, but eventually came back on the board following the departure of DBs coach Will Harris, who left UF for Miami.
“It’s just the right decision for me right now,” Jackson told On3’s Chad Simmons.
Miami immediately became a school to watch, but others are looking to emerge, too, including Oregon. The Ducks are now back to No. 5 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings after landing a surprise commitment from Los Angeles Sierra Canyon five-star EDGE Richard Wesley on May 10.

Jackson is the No. 262 overall prospect and No. 24 safety in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 37 player in Florida.
On3 ranks him higher than other recruiting services. He checks in at No. 134 nationally and No. 14 at the safety position, per the On300.
Jackson made big move in On300 last month
Ahead of Jackson’s senior season, he’s made a giant leap in the rankings. After beginning the spring as an unranked three-star in the On300, he propelled himself inside the top-150 and drew some serious praise from On3 National Scout Cody Bellaire last month:
“Jackson is someone that we have been fortunate to see in a camp setting and in the 7-on-7 circuit this spring and he has been an eye-raiser for us with every in-person viewing,” Bellaire wrote. “He appears to have gained more muscle mass throughout his frame and has become a much more explosive athlete because of it. But the best part of this is that he has retained his loose hips and fluidity and looked very impressive in man coverage as a corner during 7-on-7. His tape is filled with making plays in and around the box as a strong tackler, but adding more athleticism and proving he can cover is a strong tool to add to his belt.”
