Oregon adds to No. 1 recruiting class in 2026 cycle with commitment from 5-star TE Kendre Harrison
Oregon is pushing to sign a top-five recruiting class in the 2025 cycle next week, but Dan Lanning and Co. also continue to make waves in the Class of 2026.
The Ducks made a big splash on Saturday afternoon, landing a commitment from Reidsville (N.C.) five-star tight end Kendre Harrison, the On3 Industry Ranking’s No. 15 overall prospect and top-ranked TE in the 2026 cycle.
Harrison chose the Ducks over North Carolina, Tennessee, Miami and Penn State. The 6-foot-6, 250-pounder is also a blue-chip basketball prospect and intends to play both sports at the next level in Eugene.
“Oregon is the total package. I chose Oregon because of their player development, the coaching I will get there, the culture and the place. I like Eugene a lot,” Harrison told On3.
With the addition of the two-sport star, Oregon’s 2026 football class now features eight commits and continues to rank No. 1 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Ducks are already loaded in the upcoming cycle
Seven of Oregon’s junior commits have come since the back half of the summer. Texarkana (Texas) Texas High four-star running back Tradarian Ball kicked things off on July 27 and is currently the No. 39 recruit and No. 3 RB in the class.

August brought three pledges, headlined by Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene, the No. 12 overall prospect and No. 3 OT in the 2026 On300. Greene and Riverside (Calif.) St. John Bosco three-star EDGE Dutch Horisk each joined the fold after Frankfort Heights (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East four-star quarterback Jonas Williams, a top-100 recruit and the No. 6 QB in the cycle.
“Oregon has been my dream school for awhile,” Williams told On3. “A lot of people talk highly of Oregon and it definitely lived up to that standard. When I got there I really liked Coach Stein and how he teaches. That’s really important. I’m going to spend a lot of time with him the next four years of my life.”
Scottsdale (Ariz.) Willamette four-star defensive lineman Tony Cumberland was the first to join the class, doing so over a year ago on Sept. 23, 2023. He is the No. 43 prospect and No. 2 DL in the cycle. Cumberland is one of three D-linemen in the mix thus far, alongside Mater Dei four-star Tomuhini Tupoi and four-star Viliami Moala.
Lanning and his staff continue to build an elite core of a recruiting class that will likely hold or challenge for the top spot in the nation for a majority of the upcoming cycle. Momentum is plentiful on the recruiting trail for the Ducks.
