Contenders have emerged in the recruitment of Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh School four-star linebacker Nick Abrams. The 6-foot-2, 220-pounder has been busy on the road this spring and that’s set to continue this weekend.

On Wednesday, Abrams confirmed via X that he’ll make the cross-country trip to Eugene and visit Oregon next:

At the end of March, Abrams trimmed his list of top schools down to five. He’s also locked in a July 16 commitment date, where he’s set to choose one of the Ducks, Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Penn State.

He’s now seen his other four finalists this spring and Oregon will round things out this weekend. The Ducks have continued to build a solid relationship with the blue-chipper as he works through his process.

“Since they offered, we have been talking almost every day. They check on me, see how I am doing and it is more than just football for them,” Abrams told On3’s Chad Simmons about the Big Ten program last month. “They make it seem like family. Oregon is a great football program, they won the Big Ten Championship in first year and it can be a great networking place for me. It is a school I can’t wait to visit.”

The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine currently favors Penn State, though the push for Abrams’ pledge remains strong from each finalist. He visited Michigan earlier this week and the Wolverines made another solid impression.

“It was great to talk to coach (Brian Jean-Mary),” Abrams told The Wolverine. “I got to learn more about how he coaches. I got a sense of it on the phone, but it was great to see him on the practice field.”

Abrams is the No. 220 overall prospect and No. 15 LB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 6 player in Maryland.
