Oregon forward Mookie Cook plans to enter NCAA Transfer Portal

Oregon sophomore forward Mookie Cook plans to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal after two seasons with the Ducks, per On3’s Joe Tipton.
The 6-foot-7 Cook played in 29 games over two years, averaging 1.1 points in 4.6 minutes per contest. He missed the first 13 games of his first season in Eugene recovering from offseason ankle surgery, then appeared in five Pac-12 games before re-aggravating the injury and missing the rest of the year.
He came back in 2024-25 healthier, but has struggled to break into the Ducks rotation and has appeared in only 24 of their 35 games. The injury-riddled start to his career has derailed one of the top high school prospects in the country in the Class of 2023.
Cook, originally from Jefferson (Ore.), chose the Ducks over Gonzaga, Kentucky, USC and dozens of others. He was also considered a top-40 prospect nationally by every major recruiting services and was honored as both a McDonald’s All-American and Iverson Classic participant.
He was an early pledge to Dana Altman and Co. before re-opening his recruitment in July 2022. Cook also briefly considered playing professionally right after high school, but eventually re-committed to the Ducks.
In addition to his on-court exploits, he was also cast to play a young LeBron James in the movie ‘Shooting Stars.’
