Oregon lands commitment from elite WR Tetairoa McMillan
Anaheim (Calif.) Servite four-star wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan was highly-recruited nationally with over two-dozen offers. It came down to three schools in the Pac 12 – Arizona, Oregon and USC.
Arizona and Oregon received official visits and McMillan took an unofficial visit to USC. The 6-foot-3, 185-pounder was high on each of the finalists, but it came down to the Wildcats and Ducks before he announced his commitment Monday night to Oregon.
Oregon beats Arizona for Tetairoa McMillan
This was a tough decision for McMillan. It is something he said he went back and forth about for weeks. He has a couple of teammates – quarterback Noah Fifita and tight end Keyan Burnett – committed to Arizona, so there was a strong connection to the Wildcats.
But his strongest connection with a coach was with Oregon’s wide receivers coach Bryan McClendon. He also felt most comfortable in the Oregon environment, so that is what, in the end, pushed the Ducks to the top.
“The atmosphere at Oregon is incredible and it really fits me,” McMillan said. “They have elite facilities and really have a great recruiting class coming together.
“Coach BMac (McClendon) is my best relationship with all the coaches that recruited me. He is a great receivers coach, he can develop me and he has a dope personality that connects us, so that is important to me.
“I just like Oregon a lot. It is a great place for me.”
Oregon Ducks on pace to sign top recruiting class
McMillan is Oregon’s 18th commitment for the 2022 recruiting class and he is the sixth On300 prospect to commit to the Ducks.

Oregon and USC are expected to battle for the top class in the Pac 12, so the Ducks beating the Trojans for McMillan is a big win for Mario Cristobal.
McMillan is the No. 63-ranked player in the On300 and he is now the second highest ranked commitment in this class. Offensive tackle Kelvin Banks is the top commit and the four-star out of Texas checks in at No. 27 in the country.
Who could be next?
Arizona 5-star defensive lineman Anthony Lucas is high on Oregon, as is top-100 cornerback Jalil Tucker in California. Wide receiver Kevin Coleman of Missouri is another one to keep an eye on this fall.
Oregon is expected to sign a strong class in 2022 and the addition of McMillan gives the Ducks a big boost heading into the fall.
