Week 12 of the college football season will bring us one step closer to deciding which two teams will play in the Pac-12 conference title game in Las Vegas. The top team in the conference thus far this season, the Washington Huskies, will travel south to Corvallis, OR, to take on the Oregon State Beavers.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Washington opens as a 2.5-point favorite over Oregon State. The over/under is set at 63.5 points.

Washington is in the most challenging part of their schedule, with Oregon State being their third straight ranked opponent. Still, that hasn’t stopped the Huskies from picking up win after win, down the stretch of the 2023 season.

In Week 11, it was Utah’s time to try and knock off the Pac-12’s top dogs. And they, too, had no answer for the Huskies’ high-octane offense, which has developed a quality rushing attack behind running back Dillon Johnson, falling 35-28.

Johnson’s emergence in Washington’s offense has been a breath of fresh air as opposing defenses have been doing everything in their power to slow down Heisman-hopeful quarterback Michael Penix Jr. Penix has carved up opposing defenses to the tune of 3200 passing yards with 225 completions; completing 69.4 percent of his passes, 26 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. He has also only been sacked six times in the season. Johnson has rushed for 686 yards on 113 carries, averaging 6.1 yards per carry with 10 rushing touchdowns.

Oregon State has climbed to their 8-2 record behind the play of their stingy defense and vaunted rushing attack. The Beavers sit just outside the Pac-12 title game behind Oregon and are tied with the Arizona Wildcats. Unfortunately, Arizona holds the tiebreaker over the Beavers as they beat them earlier in the season 27-24.

This year, Oregon State has enjoyed balance on the offensive side of the ball thanks to quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei, who joined the program during the offseason after transferring from Clemson. Uiagalelei has done a solid job commanding the Oregon State offense while exploiting his dual-threat capabilities. This season, the Beavers’ junior quarterback has completed 58.3 percent of his pass attempts (134 of 230) for Just over 2000 yards with 18 touchdowns and just four interceptions. He also has 53 carries to his name for 150 yards and six rushing touchdowns.

ESPN sees this matchup of Pac-12 juggernauts as another win for Washington but by a narrow percentage. Currently, the sports power gives the Huskies a 55.2 percent chance of victory against the Beavers.

Fans of either program or those excited to see how the College Football Playoff picture shakes up can catch this matchup of high-flying offenses on November 18 at 730 p.m. ET. ABC will be broadcasting this matchup, which can also be streamed using the ESPN app.
