Pac-12 announces 2021 All-Conference, top individual honors

With the college football season now in postseason mode, individual conferences are beginning to announce their all-conference teams and awards. The Pac-12 released their full teams and award winners Tuesday, honoring multiple players and a coach for their success throughout the 2021 campaign.

Here’s a full list of the Pac-12’s all-conference teams and individual award winners.

Individual Awards

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Drake London, Wide Receiver, USC

USC standout wide receiver Drake London has been named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year. Despite suffering a broken ankle in an Oct. 30 game against Arizona and playing in just eight total games, London still tallied 88 receptions for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns. London ranks 11th in receiving yards in USC history with 2,783 and 17th in receptions with 160.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Devin Lloyd, Linebacker, Utah

Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd has been named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Utes with 106 total tackles during the regular season. Lloyd was the most valuable player in the Pac-12 championship game, making seven tackles and an interception, and was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week three different times in 2021.

FRESHMAN OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Jayden de Laura, Quarterback, Washington State

Quarterback Jayden de Laura put together a strong season for Washington State and has been named the Pac-12 Freshman Offensive Player of the Year. de Laura led the entire conference in both passing yards (2,757) and passing touchdowns (23) during the regular season while the Cougars went 7-5.

FRESHMAN DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Junior Tafuna, Defensive Tackle, Utah

Utah defensive tackle Junior Tafuna has been named the Freshman Defensive Player of the Year after making 4.5 sacks this season while starting the final 10 games of the year. His best game of the year came against Arizona, when he registered nine tackles.

COACH OF THE YEAR: Kyle Whittingham, Utah

After going 9-3 in the regular season and winning the Pac-12 championship against Oregon, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham has been named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year. The Utes – who will play in the Rose Bowl against Ohio State on Jan. 1 – have enjoyed much success throughout the 2021 season and have the chance to record a marquee bowl game win to cap the campaign. Currently 144-69 as the head coach at Utah, Whittingham has now been named Pac-12 Coach of the Year twice in the last three years.
