The NCAA is finding success on the world stage. Only a few days into the 2024 Paris Olympics, current and former collegiate athletes from across the country are bringing home hardware.

Athletes from seven conferences have already secured an Olympic medal, with four conferences capturing at least one first-place finish. The early success has boosted the United States to an initial lead in the Olympic medal count.

The ACC is leading the charge early for the NCAA with five Gold Medals. Stanford has been particularly successful, with standouts such as Vivian Kong and Torri Huske striking gold in swimming events.

Nonetheless, Stanford alumni are far from the only ones representing the ACC well. Notre Dame alumnus Lee Kiefer took home her second-straight Gold Medal in fencing. Meanwhile, California‘s Jack Alexy and Hunter Armstrong teamed up with Notre Dame’s Chris Guiliano to win gold in the Men’s 4x100M Freestyle Relay.

Minnesota‘s Sarah Bacon shined as well, reeling in a Silver Medal for her fantastic performance in the Women’s 3M Synchronized Diving event. Most recently, Ohio State’s Eleanor Harvey prevailed 15-12 in the Bronze Medal fencing match.
