Patrick Mahomes reacts to Dylan Raiola first-career touchdown pass
Nebraska freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola not only looks like Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but the style of his play and game has also drawn comparisons to Mahomes. And the two have developed a friendship over the years, too. So when Raiola connected on his first college touchdown toss to Isaiah Neyor, it wasn’t surprising that Mahomes had to chime in on social media.
The similarity between the two players is striking, especially when Raiola wears shades like Mahomes. In late July, a picture of the two players side by side looked stunningly similar.
After some early jitters — which Raiola quickly overcame — he finished with a clean passing line of 19-of-27 for 238 yards and two touchdowns. And already playing the part leader at his young age, Raiola made sure to heap credit on his teammates and run game.
“I think about the third drive,” Raiola said of when he settled in, “first and second was really a lot of adrenaline and our script. But other than that we settled in and my running game took over and did a great job with that.”

Many people had forgotten about former Texas star Isaiah Neyor. He reminded college football fans across the country how good he once was a few years ago, hauling in six catches for 121 yards and a touchdown. He figures to be the ‘Huskers’ most dynamic deep threat in the 2024 campaign and should be an exciting one to watch.
In 2021, Neyor showcased his talent as one of the nation’s top deep threats. He hauled in 39 catches for 791 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Wyoming Cowboys. He tore his ACL in training camp at Texas in fall of 2022, before watching for the rest of the season. Now, he’s officially announced his return. And it should be fun to watch the connection between he and Raiola all year long.
