Paul Finebaum’s top-4, first team out of College Football Playoff:
“Well thanks to Clemson’s big win last night, it’s getting bunched up around the four-five range,” began Finebaum. “I like Clemson very much at No. 4, they were just really fantastic last night. What else can you really say? They’re playing NC State. They beat Wake last week, which turned out to be a really good team. I’m all over DJ [Uiagalelei] and I think Dabo Swinney’s team is going to get better.”
“No. 3, take your pick, who do you want? I’m going with Ohio State,” revealed the SEC Network analyst. “They’re really playing flawlessly right now, but the competition has to improve before I think we start giving them too many kudos. But right now, they could easily be No. 1.”
“No. 2, who is it? It’s still Bama,” added Finebaum. “I mean, Alabama went on the road without their best player, and still survived a very hostile environment.”

“No. 1, it’s Georgia,” Finebaum said, as he remained steadfast in his rankings. “I said a couple of weeks ago Georgia is the new Alabama, Georgia’s actually the old Georgia right now, the way they’re playing. They are playing down to competition and Kirby [Smart] has to concerned about that.”
First team out: USC Trojans
“Not too far away is Southern Cal,” theorized the SEC Network host. “Another really impressive performance for Caleb Williams, and I’m sure the folks in Norman are missing Lincoln Riley right now, after Brent Venables dropped another one. A very interesting weekend.”
As you can see, there aren’t many surprises within Paul Finebaum’s rankings at the moment. However, with some huge showdowns on the schedule moving forward, some big changes could be on the horizon in the comings weeks.
