Paul Finebaum shook up his top four College Football Playoff teams after a wild Week 2 of college football, while also choosing one team to keep an eye on moving forward.

First, Finebaum stated on Sportscenter that the Clemson Tigers are his No. 4 squad at the moment.

“There are about five choices for No. 4. I’m going with maybe one of the least likely. Clemson I think doesn’t look great, but I still think overall this is a really good team when you factor in the ACC schedule, and the fact that there’s not much left for them other than Notre Dame,” stated Finebaum. “That’s not really looking like a juggernaut.”

At No. 3, Finebaum debated Alabama and Ohio State for the spot, but ended up going with the Buckeyes.

“At No. 3, you put Alabama. You put Ohio State. I put Ohio State,” added the SEC Network analyst. “I still think they have a long way to go, but with CJ Stroud and wide receivers and a relatively improved defense, the Buckeyes I think are going to make a lot of room. They’re going to be roaming the rest of the way.”

Of course, the Buckeyes at No. 3 means Finebaum slotted the Crimson Tide in at No. 2.

“Well, Alabama’s No. 2. That didn’t take long, did it? The Tide, going from 1 to 2,” stated Finebaum. “They’re pretty fortunate to be at No. 2, but there’s not a great replacement.”

Finally, Finebaum believes Georgia is picking up where they left off last season, having Kirby Smart’s squad as his No. 1 team.

“At No. 1, can we all say Georgia is right back where they left last season off? They’re the No. 1 team in the country, they have been flawless,” stated Finebaum. “They’ve given up I think a field goal. Stetson Bennett, yes he is in the Heisman race, after wondering why he came back.

“So it’s pretty amazing to watch the Dawgs in the first two weeks.”

Additionally, Finebaum stated that the college football world need not forget about Lincoln Riley out at USC, believing they’re turning some heads in Southern California.

“The file, I should say sorry Southern Cal, I forgot all about you. You guys played so late. It’s hard to keep up with. Southern Cal is the team you have to keep your eye on,” explained Finebaum. “I know there’s a lot of people getting ahead of themselves, putting them in the top four. I’m going to wait a little bit, but when you look at their schedule, suddenly it’s not so difficult.

“They have Utah, they also have Notre Dame. Let me repeat, they have Utah left on the schedule.”

So Paul Finebaum believes the Clemson Tigers, Ohio State Buckeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs are the top four teams in the country at the moment following Week 2, but is keeping his eye on the USC Trojans. Time will tell if the SEC Network host is vindicated over the next few weeks, or if he’s forced to change up his rankings moving forward.
