ESPN pundit Paul Finebaum was asked by Mike Greenberg for his midseason Top 4 College Football Playoff projection Wednesday on ESPN’s Get Up. The host of The Paul Finebaum Show didn’t hesitate at all to give his top four teams.

They are Georgia, Ohio State, Florida State and Texas.

“I would start with Georgia,” Finebaum said during the first hour of Wednesday’s episode of the show. “I know everybody wants to beat up on them but they’re still number one in my book. Ohio State escaped against Notre Dame. They’re still around and then obviously Florida State has such impressive wins at Clemson and against LSU. And I really like Texas because of what Heather said: that win at Alabama.”

Greenberg then asked ESPN insider Heather Dinich, who was on the panel with Finebaum, for her top four. It looked very different for Finebaum’s.

They had three of the same four teams, but none of them were in the same place int he top four. Dinich also left out one conference entirely that is quite surprising considering it has three teams ranked in the top six or seven in most rankings and polls.

“We’re on different pages, Paul,” Dinich said. “I’ve got Florida State number one, Texas number two, Georgia number three — because not even Kirby Smart knows how good this team is yet. And at number four, I’ve got Washington because they’re the most complete team in the country.

“For everyone saying, woah, wait a minute, where’s the Big Ten, I’ve got Ohio State on the bubble at number five because of that Notre Dame win. Michigan, right now, as good as they’ve been and J.J. McCarthy’s the best quarterback in the Big Ten, they’re 113th right now in strength of schedule, according to ESPN analytics.”
