Penn State is set to host one of the top transfer wide receivers available in the spring portal window on campus on Friday, a source tells On3. Syracuse wide receiver Trebor Pena will be in State College on Friday.

Pena had a breakout 2024 season, posting 84 receptions and 941 receiving yards. Viewed as a top wideout in the portal, he was an All-ACC selection last season. He closes his Syracuse career with 1,212 receiving yards.

As On3 reported earlier this week, Miami is also expected to be a factor in Pena’s recruitment. Adding wide receiver talent is Penn State’s top priority in this 10-day spring portal window.

The Nittany Lions’ wide receiver issues were apparent in the season-ending loss in the Orange Bowl. Penn State added Troy transfer Devonte Ross and USC transfer Kyron Hudson during the winter portal window. Ross was one of the most productive wide receivers in the nation this season, ranking in the top 20 in receiving yards with 1,043 yards on 76 catches with 11 touchdowns. Hudson was a productive wide receiver at USC, too, with 57 career catches for 655 yards in three seasons.

But Penn State lost Trey Wallace — he finished with 720 receiving yards this season — and Omari Evans in the days following the Orange Bowl loss to the portal. The Nittany Lions would ideally like to add one to two more wideouts in the spring portal that will add to Drew Allar’s receiver arsenal.
