Owings Mills (Md.) McDonogh School four-star cornerback Brandon Finney has been committed to Oregon since June 25. Now, a team much closer to home is trending to flip him away from the Ducks.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Penn State is currently the favorite to steal Finney away from the Green and Yellow. The Nittany Lions have a 90.2% chance of landing his commitment. On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons and Penn State recruiting insider Sean Fitz have both logged expert predictions favoring PSU in Finney’s recruitment.

Finney took official visits to both Oregon and Penn State in the summer in addition to OVs to South Carolina and Ohio State. In September, he made a surprise unofficial visit to Michigan. Then this month, Finney has returned to both Eugene and State College.

After his Oct. 12 visit to Oregon, Finney reiterated that he was still committed to Oregon but also confirmed his interest in the Nittany Lions.

“I’m still committed to Oregon,” Finney told On3. “I feel like it’s a good place, but I am looking at schools like Penn State. They have been on for a while and have shown a big priority for them.”

Finney had visited Penn State the week before he returned to Eugene. He raved about the trip to On3.

“The big thing about this weekend was that it was actually my first Penn State game,” Finney told On3 earlier this month. “So, being there for that environment was a great experience. I got to see the defense and how well they played. Obviously, the crowd they had there, with that many people for a noon game, was amazing.”
