Ahead of the Top-10 matchup between No. 3 Texas and No. 10 Michigan, Peyton Manning has addressed a certain rumor going around town in Ann Arbor.

Earlier this week, The Graduate Hotel, which is five minutes up the street from The Big House, had flags of both teams flying outside. With that, some hearsay suggests that Cooper Manning, one of the Manning brothers and father of Arch Manning, Texas’ backup quarterback, made that happen due to his involvement and connection to the business.

On Friday, Manning answered a question about that during an appearance on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’.

“I have not heard this,” said Manning. “Cooper is in the hotel business. The Graduate is kind of one of their top hotels. There’s one in Knoxville, there’s one in Columbus, there’s one in Ann Arbor. They have room keys with the famous alums on there.”

“I have not heard that but that ‘ought to get this game and rivalry started pretty quick.”

Cooper Manning is a senior managing director for investor relations AJ Capital Partners and has been since 2016. They are involved with The Graduate Hotels that now have 33 locations across the country.

Who hung the burnt orange downtown ahead of this weekend’s game? Maybe Cooper Manning was involved, maybe he wasn’t. Either way, Peyton Manning says he knows nothing about it.

There’s a palpable buzz around Arch Manning following his season debut last weekend, including the first touchdown pass of his collegiate career.

During Friday’s edition of ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ from Ann Arbor, Peyton Manning joined the broadcast and he reacted to Arch’s performance against Colorado State. He shedded some insight into his involvement in the young quarterback’s development.

“It’s obviously Arch and his dad, Cooper. This is not some kind of team, by any means. Eli and I are his uncles. We talk to him kind of when he reaches out to us and try to answer questions,” Manning said. “Like I’ve told you, I think sometimes he regrets it. He might ask me a question about a two-minute drill and I’ll leave him three 12-minutes voice memos later about the two-minute drill. So I’m sure he’s like, ‘I wish I wouldn’t have asked my uncle that question.’. But I’m proud of Arch. I’m proud of him.”

“Like you said, most kids probably wouldn’t’ have stayed in that situation. He went to Texas because he wanted to play at Texas. He wanted to go to college there, play for Sark. Those are the right reasons you should choose a college and I’m glad he’s staying there. He and Quinn have a good relationship. I think Quinn’s going to have a great year. But, yeah, it was fun to see him get in there.”

“My dad’s speed and athletic ability kind of skipped a generation and went to him. It did not come to me and Eli. So, he can run, he can move,” Manning said. “I’m happy for him and, like I said, pulling hard this year. Cooper’s coming to Ann Arbor this weekend and, you know, should be a great ballgame there in Ann Arbor.”
