Peyton Manning has always been a jokester throughout his NFL career. So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he decided to take a playful jab at rival/friend Tom Brady during his Hall of Fame induction speech Sunday night.

Brady decided to fly in from Tampa to Canton, to watch his longtime friend/rival get inducted into the Hall of Fame.

You can find the audio clip on Twitter. But here’s the transcribed version below.

“Speaking of rivals, my good friend is here tonight. By the time Tom Brady is inducted in his first year of eligibility in the year 2035, he’ll only have time to post his acceptance speech on his instagram account.”

Peyton was joking about how acceptance speeches for the Hall of Fame will be getting shorter and shorter, since there are so many different players being inducted. He’s also joking about how long Tom Brady is going to play in the NFL.

Brady is currently 44 years old and is under contract with the Bucs through the 2022 season, when he will be 45 years old.

Peyton Manning was joking about Tom Brady flying in to see the speech, when he spoke with Mike Klis.

“Means a lot. Special. The fact he’s flying commercial up here and connecting through Charlotte and Cleveland, really shocking. But it means a lot. (And then) … Yeah, right.”

Of course Tom Brady would never fly commercial airlines. He’d likely get mobbed by football fans. Either that, or fans telling him how much they hate him. It does seem like he appreciated the gesture of Brady flying in, no matter if he was flying private or commercial. Brady’s net worth is $200 million, according to wealthygorilla.com.

Peyton Manning has Hall of Fame bust jokes, too

Manning has been in a joking mood recently. He recently went on former teammate Brandon Stokely’s podcast to talk about his HOF bust and how big his forehead was.

“As far as the bust, I flew to Utah and had to sit with this guy for about seven hours,” Manning said.  “I don’t know if mine took longer because of my big forehead, Stoke? Or if seven hours is the norm.”

“It’s a lot of forehead and a lot of neck that they had to incorporate and it’s a lot more clay, but seven hours, it’s a long time.”

“I remember in the first 30 minutes, the sculptor, he’s a great guy, but he’s like, ‘so, when you were calling an audible, what were you looking for there.”

“I was like, ‘wow, I don’t know if I can handle seven hours of this.’  I told the guy, I said, ‘Blair, listen, I’m content to sit here for seven hours in total silence.”
