Four-Star PF Pharaoh Compton sets 3 official visits, transferring high schools
Four-star power forward Pharaoh Compton tells On3 he will be transferring from Arizona Compass Prep to Arbor View High School in his hometown of Las Vegas for his senior season.
The 6-foot-7 rising senior has also scheduled three official visits. He will visit San Diego State on August 23-25, Tennessee on the weekend of September 8th, and lastly LSU on October 14-16.
Compton, a Las Vegas native, has previously officially visited Houston and unofficially visited UNLV. He’s also received offers from Arizona State, Texas A&M, Houston, Iowa, Kansas State, and others.
According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Compton is the No. 79 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 11 power forward prospect and the No. 1 player in the state of Nevada. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Compton talks programs involved
In a previous interview with On3, Pharaoh Compton discussed several schools recruiting him.
Houston: “I was watching a lot of film of them before my visit, so I already knew they were pretty grimey. I watched their practice, and they went straight at it. They preached rebounding and boxing out; they basically play exactly how I play. They kept in contact with me a lot and I knew I fit their system, so I wanted to go and see for myself how everything was.”

UNLV: “It was an unofficial, but they made sure I met all the coaches and everyone in the program. They showed me around the campus and facilities, and I took some pictures there. It was really nice.”
LSU: “It’s down south, so it’s pretty grimey down there. I like their style of play too. We keep in contact regularly, so I want to make sure I go down there.”
What he’s looking for in a school
“I’m gonna be looking close to the coaching staff,” Compton said. “I want to go somewhere that has a good weight coach, the strength coach. I want to look at the way they play and make sure I fit their style of play, always going hard, boxing out, and rebounding.”
Scouting Report
Pharaoh Compton is a strong, active player. He is the type who enjoys doing the tough guy stuff, the rebounding, the defending, the screening. Offensively, his game extends to about ten feet, but if he gets it in those ten feet, he tries to dunk everything. Compton has good hands and really tracks the ball at a high level on the boards. There is no fear in his game. Despite being undersized, he is a good post defender. He moves well. He is explosive. Activity and toughness are his game. – On3’s Jamie Shaw
