Promoted as “the most accurate magazine over the last 36 years,” Phil Steele’s annual preseason magazine may as well be the Bible for diehard college football fans eager to soak up everything they can ahead of the upcoming season.

And Steele certainly didn’t disappoint with the 2025 edition of his annual College Football preview magazine, including providing a deep-dive into the sports’ best players entering the season with a four-team Preseason All-American list on Page 18.

Check out Phil Steele’s complete list of 2025 Preseason All-Americans below:

First-Team All-Americans
Quarterback

Cade Klubnik

Cade Klubnik, Clemson

Klubnik returns for his third season as the Tigers’ QB1 and leads one of college football’s most talented offensive units, including a loaded WR room. If he can match or improve on last season’s production (3,639 yards, 36 TDs), Klubnik will be in the mix for more than an All-American nod.

Running Backs

Jeremiyah Love, Notre Dame; Nicholas Singleton, Penn State

Love earns a first-team honor after a breakout sophomore season, when he rushed for 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2024. Singleton (1,099 yards) gets the first-team nod over teammate Kaytron Allen (1,108 yards) mostly due to his explosiveness and team-leading 12 rushing touchdowns.

Wide Receivers

Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State; Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State; Ryan Williams, Alabama

Steele’s first-team WRs are self-explainatory. Smith more than exceeded his five-star hype to lead the Big Ten with 1,315 yards and 15 touchdowns as a true freshman, while Williams also broke out as a freshman to lead Alabama with 8 receiving touchdowns and 865 yards. Prior to a late-season injury, Tyson had his own breakout campaign with 75 receptions for 1,101 yards and 10 scores through the air in 2024.

Tight End

Eli Stowers, Vanderbilt

Stowers gets the first-team nod after emerging as the preferred No. 1 target for returning Commodores QB1 Diego Pavia after racking up 49 receptions for 638 yards and five touchdowns last season.

Offensive Line

C Parker Brailsford, Alabama; OG Cayden Green, Missouri; OG Olaivavega Ioane, Penn State; OT Spencer Fano, Utah; OT Kaydn Proctor, Alabama

The Crimson Tide tandem of Brailsford and Proctor bookend a first-team offensive line unit that is heavy on SEC talent, including Missouri’s Green. Vega Ioane also cracks the first-team after anchoring a Nittany Lions OL that had two 1,000-yard rushers in 2024, while Fano gets the final first-team nod as a likely Top 10 NFL Draft pick next April.

Defensive Line

DE TJ Parker, Clemson; DE Colin Simmons, Texas; DT Peter Woods, Clemson; DT Tim Keenan, Alabama

The Clemson DL tandem of Parker and Woods are also earning way-to-early NFL Draft buzz and will anchor what is expected to be an elite Tigers defensive front seven this season. Simmons flashed as a true freshman with a Texas-best nine sacks and three forced fumbles, while Keenan follows in the footsteps of previous elite Crimson Tide nose tackles and will look to build upon last season’s 7.5 tackles for loss.

Linebackers

Texas LB Anthony Hill Jr.

Anthony Hill, Texas; Kyle Louis, Pittsburgh; Deontae Lawson, Alabama; Whit Weeks, LSU

Despite some serious NFL consideration, Hill opted to run it back in Austin after racking up 113 total tackles — including a SEC-best 16.5 TFL — in 2024. Louis is the ACC’s top returning tackler with 101 stops last season, while Weeks ranked second in the SEC with 125 total tackles. Lawson is back after being limited to just 11 games following a late-season injury at Oklahoma.

Secondary

CB Daylen Everette, Georgia; CB Leonard Moore, Notre Dame; S Caleb Downs, Ohio State; S Michael Taaffe, Texas

Everette gets the first-team nod after leading the Bulldogs defense with three interceptions in 2024, while Taaffe added two picks and 12 passes defended for the Longhorns. Ohio State’s Downs is widely considered the best defensive talent in all of college football and Moore is a big-bodied corner at 6-2 that earned FWAA freshman All-American honors a year ago.

Specialists

K Dominic Zvada, Michigan; P Brett Thorson, Georgia; KR Keelan Marion, Miami; PR Kam Shanks, Arkansas; AP Desmond Reid, Pitt; LS Rocco Underwood, Florida

Zvada gets the first-team nod at kicker after making 21 of 22 field goals for the Wolverines in 2024, while Thorson averaged 47.6 yards per punt on 42 boots last season for the Bulldogs. Shanks is a first-team selection after averaging a FBS-best 20.56 yards per punt return and two touchdowns in 2024, while Marion makes the cut after transferring from BYU, where he was tied for the FBS-lead with two returned kickoffs for TDs. Reid is the top all-purpose yard leader after averaging 155 all-purpose yards in 2024.
