Photos: Ashley Chastain introduced as new South Carolina Softball coach
Ray Tanner took the podium to introduce South Carolina Softball’s new head coach Ashley Chastain on Wednesday afternoon.
Chastain began speaking with tears welling up, promising not to get too emotional about her dream job.
Chastain is a former Gamecock Softball pitcher, and only the second alumnus to be named a South Carolina head coach. She previously served as head coach for the Charlotte 49ers for the last five seasons, where she led her teams to a 154-96 overall record.
