Pitt defensive lineman Elliot Donald has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. Donald is the nephew of three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald.

Elliot Donald played in four games for Pitt this past season. He finished the year with 6 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss and a quarterback hurry.

Elliot Donald signed with Pitt as a four-star recruit and the No. 277 overall player in the country in the class of 2021, per the On3 Industry rankings.

The Pittsburgh native played in one game while redshirting in 2021, before playing in seven games as a backup defensive tackle in 2022. He recorded 4 tackles, 0.5 sacks and a pass break up that season.

In 2023, Donald played in seven games once again, finishing with two tackles. He played in four of the first five games this season before not seeing action in the final seven.

It was an up-and-down season for Pitt in 2024. The Panthers got off to a fast start and were 7-0 as October came to an end. Unfortunately, the month of November was not kind to Pat Narduzzi and his club.

Pitt went 0-5 down the stretch this season, dropping games to SMU, Virginia, Clemson, Louisville and Boston College.

Of those five losses, Pitt was close to getting wins in two of them. The Panthers dropped a 24-19 game against Virginia on Nov. 9. A week later, Pitt led Clemson 20-17 in the final minutes, before Cade Klubnik broke off a long touchdown run to give the Tigers the lead.

While dropping five straight games to end the regular season was tough, overall it was a solid bounce back year for Narduzzi and the Panthers.

Pitt finished 3-9 in 2023 but has clinched a winning record in 2024, regardless of what happens in the bowl game.
