Pittsburgh Steelers sign kicker Matthew Wright to 53-man roster
The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced that they signed kicker Matthew Wright to their 53-man roster. This comes as Chris Boswell is dealing with a groin injury.
Matthew Wright had previously been on the Kansas City Chiefs‘ practice squad. That means that Pittsburgh will need to be on Pittsburgh’s roster for at least three games. This, of course, implies that Boswell is going to have to miss multiple weeks before he is able to return from injury.
This is Matthew Wright’s third season in the NFL. He has played for Pittsburgh as a rookie, before moving on to Jacksonville and then Kansas City. While he played for the Steelers, Wright appeared in three games and scored 19 points without missing an extra point or field goal.
