The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced a few roster moves following their 24-17 Monday night victory over the Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers have announced that they will sign former fourth-round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Renell Wren.

Pittsburgh plans to sign the former Arizona State Sun Devil to their practice squad. This will be the second time they have done so this season. The first time the Steelers picked up Wren was on Sept. 2 following the league’s 53-man roster trim when the Philadelphia Eagles waived him. He was waived by the Steelers a few days after their close 37-30 loss to the Bengals.

In order to make room on their practice squad to reacquire the services of Wren, Pittsburgh has announced that they will waive wide receiver, Josh Malone. Ironically Malone is also a former fourth-round pick of Cincinnati. However, he was collected in the 2017 draft, and Wren was picked up two years later in the 2019 NFL draft.

Steelers pick up win over Colts, keep pace in the AFC North

The Steelers picked up a hard-fought win on the road on Monday night, improving their record to 4-7 on the season. Although Pittsburgh is tied with the Cleveland Browns at the bottom of the AFC North, this victory goes a long way toward aligning themselves for future seasons. Rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett is beginning to piece it together slowly but surely. Over the last three games, hey he has a completion percentage of 63 percent, completing 63 of his 100 pass attempts. More importantly, he is taking care of the football, rushing for one touchdown and passing for another. Pickett has recorded an interception in those three contests, which was an issue for him early on.

Up next for Pittsburgh is another road contest. This time they will travel down South to take on the Atlanta Falcons in what will be another winnable contest. If Pickett can continue this trend of taking care of the ball, the Steelers will have a chance at picking up their third victory in their last four games.
