Noah-Clowney

Noah Clowney is a 6-foot-9, 205-pound power forward out of Dorman High School in Roebuck, SC. He is ranked as a four-star prospect in the Class of 2022 by On3. Clowney has no date set for commitment but is considering Virginia Tech, Alabama, Indiana, Florida, and Alabama.

Why Noah Clowney is Special

Quick Finisher
Noah Clowney is a long and athletic low post player. Clowney has a quick-twitch jumping ability that allows him to rise above defenders before they even jump. He also possesses a long wingspan to finish over defenders with his right or left hand.

Slasher
Noah Clowney is not like most prominent big men who stay in the post and wait for the guards to pass the ball down low. When he catches the ball on the wing, he attacks and can get to an array of floaters, hook shots and dunks around the rim. Clowney can get a rebound and can take it from coast to coast. Clowney’s greatest strength is the way he uses his broad shoulders to body defenders. Once in the post, he has mastered the right-hand jump hook.

Three-level -scorer
Noah Clowney is not just a low post scorer. He also has an excellent midrange game and is developing a consistent 3-point shot. He can take the ball to the basket and dunk just off one dribble from the 3-point line. A lot of big men develop their 3-point shot late in their career. Clowney has great shooting mechanics and will be a shooter that any college team will rely on.

NBA Comparison

Chris Bosh was a five-time NBA all-star and NBA champion. Clowney has a spitting image to Bosh’s game because both players are versatile forwards who can score at all three levels. They both are not elite ball handlers but can make quick moves by their defenders. Lastly, both Bosh and Clowney have rapid and robust finishes around the rim that would demoralize defenses.
