The battle for Arch Manning’s commitment is shaping up to be one of the biggest in the modern era of recruiting.

Manning – the nation’s No. 1 overall junior prospect, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average – is the scion of one of America’s top sporting families.

Manning is the son of Cooper Manning, the nephew of Peyton and Eli, and the grandson of Archie. Peyton, Eli and Archie were all-SEC stars who reached the NFL. Eli won two Super Bowl MVPs, while Peyton landed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Arch Manning had the red carpet rolled out for him Georgia, Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss. Now, he is visiting Clemson this weekend to watch the Tigers battle Florida State.

On3’s Senior Recruiting Editor Jeremy Crabtree is joined on the Over the Middle podcast by On3’s National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton to examine where things stand with his recruitment.

The On3 experts have made the first predictions in the industry on where Manning might end up. While the confidence level is low from most, there is a current consensus on the program most likely to land his pledge.

Alabama, LSU set to visit Arch Manning Friday

According to Clemson Sports HQ recruiting reporter Joseph Hastings, Arch Manning will be visited by coaches from Alabama and LSU on Friday night when his Isadore Newman team hosts Cohen.

Alabama had Manning on campus when the Crimson Tide rolled over Ole Miss on Oct. 2. Manning was in Oxford last weekend as his uncle Eli Manning had his jersey retired.

Georgia head coach Kirby Smart was in town to watch the five-star quarterback last Friday night. Isadore Newman fell to Berkely Prep in a matchup that was featured on ESPN.
