Portland (Ore.) Compass Prep two-sport star Lamar Washington has announced his top five schools for playing basketball at the next level.

Washington posted a graphic on Twitter showing Auburn, Oregon State, Texas, Texas Tech and Washington State as his top five, emphasizing that there is “no debating” that these are his finalists.

A 6-foot-4 guard on the hardwood and a powerful linebacker on the gridiron, Washington has earned numerous offers for both from Division I college. However, he has focused on basketball over the last year. He is not playing football this fall after transferring to Compass Prep in Arizona.

He has stated that he would like to try and play both sports at the next level.

Cook is a five-star small forward in the class of 2023. He ranks as the No. 6 overall recruit in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. In the 2023 On3 Top 100, Cook slides in slightly higher at No. 5.

The duo is not done yet either. Cook has also transferred to Compass Prep.

“It’s been a blessing, being able to do this together, best friends growing up and being able to do this at a high level,” Cook told NBC’s Portland affiliate in July. “Not many people can say they have their best friend by their side throughout the whole way.”

Washington averaged 31.2 points and 10.3 rebounds per game as a junior on his way to the 2020-21 Gatorade State Player of the Year Award.
