Princeton gains commitment from 3-star guard Dalen Davis
Princeton got their fourth commitment of the 2023 class on Saturday as three-star guard Dalen Davis chose the Tigers over other offers that included Kansas State, Harvard, Illinois, and St. Louis.
“The environment was comfortable and welcoming,” Davis told On3. “The academics obviously is out of this world, and the long-term opportunity Princeton presents is something you can’t miss out on.”
The 6-foot-0 guard averaged 11.8 points and 3.3 assists this summer for the Meanstreets program on Nike’s EYBL Circuit. He finished with a 1.28 to 1 assist-to-turnover ratio and shot 48.3 percent from two.
“They play in a free-flowing offense,” Davis said. “They use picks, cuts, and screens. I’ll be able to create off the bounce, and they like to take and make a lot of threes. They collectively play hard-nosed defense.”

Dalen Davis joins 6-foot-5 guard Jackson Hicke, 6-foot-7 forward Derek Sangster, and 6-foot-7 post Jacob Huggins for Princeton head coach Mitch Henderson in the 2023 class. Davis is a senior at famed Chicago (IL) Whitney Young High School. He led them to a 25-and-10 record, 8-and-0 in conference, last season.
“The coaching staff was welcoming,” Davis said. “They believed in me and what I could bring to Princeton basketball. A great legacy is before me, and I wish to continue it.”
