Princeton WR AJ Barber has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal on Friday. That comes per reporting by On3’s Pete Nakos this morning.

Barber has appeared in all of the 30 games over the past three seasons for the Tigers, including being a full-time starter last fall in 2024. While at Princeton, Barber has not finished lower than third on the team in receiving and has caught 109 passes in those outings for 1,264 yards and six touchdowns. That’s 36.3 receptions for 421.3 yards and two touchdowns on average for Barber as a three-time honoree as Honorable Mention All-Ivy League. That’s not to mention his play on special teams as a returner on kicks and punts.

Barber is a native of Old Greenwich, Connecticut. He’d go on to play his high school football at Greenwich before his collegiate career.

Barber is the son of Tiki Barber, the decade-long running back who played for the New York Giants. After being a second-round pick in 1997 after a four-year career at Virginia, Tiki Barber went on to post 15,632 yards from scrimmage and 67 touchdowns, 10,449 yards and 55 scores being from rushing on the ground, in his career in the NFL.

Tiki Barber’s best, though, came over his final three seasons in the league. Then, he had 6,613 scrimmage yards and 31 total touchdowns, with his scrimmage yardage twice leading the sport, as he was a three-time honoree as a Pro Bowler. Tiki Barber was a one-time honoree as an All-Pro as a First Team selection in 2005, a season in which he was also a top-five candidate for Offensive Player of the Year and MVP.

AJ Barber could have been finishing his career with Princeton. Instead, he’ll be the latest name in the transfer portal per the news today out of New Jersey regarding his entry earlier today.
