Projecting the Field of 64 after announcement of 16 regional hosts for NCAA Tournament
The NCAA baseball tournament is nearly upon us. On Sunday night, following the conclusion of conference tournaments across college baseball, the 16 regional host sites were announced by the NCAA. Following the release of the top 16 teams in the tournament, we have projected the entire Field of 64.
Each regional will consist of four teams, with the top seed hosting the double elimination-style pod. One team will emerge from each regional, setting up eight super regional matchups. The winner of the top-seeded regional will face off against the 16th-seeded regional. And that will continue from the winner of the second-seeded regional against the 15th-seeded, and so forth.
The winner of each super regional will advance to the College World Series, with the opportunity to battle for a national championship in Omaha.
