Talented Midwest RB Izaiah Wright commits to Purdue

Rockwood (Mich.) Carlson running back Izaiah Wright has committed to Purdue.
The 5-foot-10, 200-pound Wright was in West Lafayette over the weekend. He chose to play for first-year head coach Barry Odom and his staff over the likes of Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan State, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
“It really felt like home to me and I loved to coaching staff and the facilities,” Wright said.
Wright becomes commit No. 4 for Odom and company in the 2026 class. Lamar Conard was the lead recruiter for the Boilers.
“I feel like I will develop really well there and become the best player I can be,” Wright said.
The On3 Industry tabs Wright as the No. 44 running back in the country. In nine games as a junior he rushed for 957 yards and 13 touchdowns. He broke out as a sophomore with nearly 2,000 yards on the ground and 31 scores.
Wright was one of the top prospects on Purdue’s board regardless of position.
“I’m exited to be a part of a program like Purdue,” Wright said. “They have a rich history of great players and I hope to be one of them.”
