Quinn Ewers injury update: Texas QB's status for Red River Rivalry revealed on Wednesday injury report
Matchup No. 120 between Texas and Oklahoma will take place on Saturday but with a different twice. This is the first Red River Shootout with the two programs in the SEC after spending the previous 28 seasons as members of the Big 12. As you can imagine, intensity levels have only increased ahead of the game, and Quinn Ewers’ status was among the updates.
Unfortunately, there are some injury problems with both teams to deal with a few days away from kickoff. Wednesday’s injury report has been released by the SEC as multiple names show up on each end.
The biggest is undoubtedly Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, who has missed the past three weeks and two games. Head coach Steve Sarkisian provided a positive update on Monday but the Longhorns are still monitoring Ewers’ status before taking the field at the Cotton Bowl. He was listed as probable on Wednesday’s injury report.

Winning coach of Texas-Oklahoma set to have first-ever Fletcher’s Corny Dog
Somehow, the two most important people involved in the Texas-Oklahoma rivalry have not had a staple food of the State Fair of Texas. Neither Sarkisian nor Brent Venables has eaten a Fletcher’s Corny Dog during their respective time with the two programs.
Venables revealed as such when speaking on Wednesday’s SEC Coaches Teleconference but promised to consume one if Oklahoma took Texas down.

“My body might shut down with one of those fried corn dogs,” Venables said. “We get a W, I’m going to have one.”
Sarkisian followed up later in the call, being in the same boat as Venables. He had never had a corny dog either but if Texas ends up winning on Saturday, Sarkisian will try to find one.
“I have not enjoyed a corny dog,” Sarkisian said. “I have not had a chance to partake in the State Fair but I know it’s a great time… Maybe if we win, I’ll try to find a corny dog or something.”
