Texas received welcomed news ahead of Saturday’s revival of the contentious Lone Star Showdown rivalry series.

Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers is listed as probable to play vs. rival Texas A&M on Saturday in College Station, according to the SEC’s Friday injury report.

Quinn suffered an ankle injury in last week’s home win over Kentucky but has been repeatedly listed as probable throughout this week’s prior injury reports, meaning No. 3 Texas (10-1, 6-1 SEC) will have all hands on deck against the host Aggies (8-3, 5-2 SEC) on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Texas A&M could be without a pair of defensive backs and two offensive standouts based on the latest injury report.

Saturday will be the first meeting between the hated Lonestar State rivals Texas and Texas A&M since 2011, the season before the Aggies officially entered the SEC. In that game, the Longhorns sent A&M off with a 27-25 loss in College Station. Texas has dominated the all-time rivalry series with a 76-37-5 record, including three of the last four — two of those wins coming in College Station.

This season, Texas A&M is coming into this matchup off a heartbreaking loss to Auburn in four overtimes. Meanwhile, a Texas win would send the Longhorns to the SEC Championship against Georgia, effectively guaranteeing their inclusion in the 12-team College Football Playoff. Of course, should the three-loss Aggies pull off the upset, they will be taking on the Bulldogs in Atlanta.

Kickoff between the Longhorns and Aggies is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN+.
