Quinnipiac forward Amarii Monroe will likely be one of the most coveted players in the NCAA transfer portal this cycle. And he is reportedly down to six schools, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

Monroe has the following six finalists for the time being: Kansas, Miami, Ole Miss, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and UConn. That’s a high-quality list.

And Amarri Monroe has certainly earned the interest following his junior season with Quinnipiac. The 6-foot-7 forward had a huge jump in production.

During the 2024-25 campaign, he averaged 18.1 points and 9.1 rebounds. He did so while starting in 31 of his 32 appearances on the season.

In addition to his scoring and rebounding production, Monroe also chipped in 2.3 steals, 1.6 assists and 0.8 blocks per contest. He shot 27.3% from 3-point range and 40.5% from the floor.

While the 3-point percentage could use a little work, Amarri Monroe certainly isn’t afraid to let it fly. He has 337 career 3-point attempts, with his career percentage resting at 29.7% following this season.

Whatever school lands him will be getting a player who has shown considerable year-over-year growth every year of his college career so far. He began at Wofford as a freshman in 2022-23.

While with the Terriers, Monroe averaged just 3.6 points and 3.9 rebounds. He improved that after transferring to Quinnipiac. Considerably, too. His averages jumped to 12.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game as a sophomore.

Then, of course, he had the explosion as a junior this season. One other thing that Monroe also can do well? He’s a very strong free-throw shooter.

He posted an 82.6% clip as a junior, the best of his career. He has a career mark of 79.8%, and he gets to the line a lot; he had 161 attempts in 2024-25.

Bottom line: Someone’s going to get a very capable player in Amarri Monroe. And he’s beginning to trim his list of finalists down.
