Passmore, a native of Palatka, Florida, is also looking to schedule a visit to Wake Forest and potentially Kansas. He’s previously officially visited Oregon and Indiana, and unofficially visited Wake Forest and NC State.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Passmore is the No. 49 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle. He’s also the No. 18 small forward prospect and the No. 5 player in the state of North Carolina. Indiana: “Our relationship continues to grow. I’m in constant contact with the coaches. Pretty much everyone on staff texts me, we talk like every other day. They’re trying to recruit more athleticism on the wing, and they’re trying to recruit wings in my class. They like my game and how I fit with their style. “Coach (Mike) Woodson is a good coach. He has NBA experience and learning from an NBA mindset. That is where I want to be (the NBA), and I’m trying to learn from the best.”

Oregon: “It was nice out there. Very similar to Asheville, where I live. It was like a cleaner Asheville, so I liked it a lot out there. Being able to walk through the Nike facility and see how the shoes were made was pretty nice. The waffle maker and all, it was all pretty crazy. They like to play fast. I’m a fast athlete, I like to move and play fast too. Getting up and down the court is my thing, so that fits.”

LSU: “They’ve been my guys for a while now. They were my first ever offer when I was back at Asheville (NC) AC Reynolds High, and they were at Murray State. The coach went to LSU and then offered me there, too, so I’ve been talking with them forever. They like to play fast, and they like running and jumping athletes, and I think that fits how I play.”

Wake Forest: “They were the first ACC school to offer me. I always enjoy myself when I go there; it was another great visit. Coach (Steve) Forbes lets his players play, and they go fast.”

Scouting Report

Rakease Passmore is a lengthy and highly explosive wing. At 6-foot-5, there is talk of him having a 46-inch max vertical jump. When he gets a head of steam, he attacks the rim with bad intentions. Passmore is much developed as a shooter. The release is high and consistent. He needs to develop creating off the bounce and building consistency, getting the ball into his shot pocket off the live dribble. Passmore has a high-level work ethic, which is evident by his rapid improvement over a short amount of time. He averaged 21 points playing with the Garner Road program on the Adidas 3SSB 16u Circuit. There is a massive upside here, and the work is showing to reach his vast ceiling. – On3’s Jamie Shaw
