Phoenix Mountain Pointe running back Randle Parker attended a camp at New Mexico State last summer. The Aggies did not extend an offer, but that eventually changed.

Parker was offered by New Mexico State on Jan. 25. Receiving his first offer marked a massive moment in his recruitment.

“It was letting me know that I can really do this,” Parker told On3. “Like, now it’s time to keep working. I know I still got stuff to prove.”

The 5-foot-9, 195-pound tailback plays both running back and outside linebacker at Mountain Pointe. This season, he recorded 78 rushes for 767 yards and nine touchdowns.

Parker, who will “probably” visit the Aggies again, received his offer from Director of Recruiting Giovann Melendez. The two have known each other for a while since Melendez previously worked at Mountain Pointe.

“He was our defensive coordinator and one of our track coaches before he got the job over there,” Parker said. “So the fact that I have a relationship with him, I can really hit him up and we’re just cool. It’s like a friendship there. I like that part about (New Mexico State) and the campus is not too bad too. I liked the way the field is set up.”

In the coming months, Parker plans to work hard on the track and spend time in the weight room. He also wants to improve his mobility on the field, so he has been prioritizing stretching and other agility drills.

Idaho is another school recruiting Parker

Along with New Mexico State, Idaho is involved in Parker’s recruitment. The Arizona native has already connected with running backs coach/special teams coordinator Thomas Ford, who he called a “real genuine, down-to-earth guy.”

“He’s not one of those coaches where he’ll hit me up and then wait a month and then hit me up again,” Parker said. “Our relationship is growing. He texts me here and there. He was already trying to get me down to some camps.”

The Vandals offered Parker on Feb. 18. He is excited to see where his hard work, and senior season, takes him.

“I still feel like I have something to prove,” said Parker, who recently added an offer from Northern Arizona.
