March Madness has arrived, and like every season there are so many storylines on the horizon. Plenty players across the bracket will look to write their name in NCAA Tournament history by putting together a strong run through the bracket.

Each region is loaded with talent, but not every player with great stats is necessarily a household name entering March. This is the opportunity for players to show their skillset in front of the world.

Listed below are the Top 10 players in the West Region of the 2025 NCAA Tournament, plus five honorable mentions who were just too good to leave off completely. The list is not complete, with plenty of cuts made which could prove valuable in March Madness, but still offers a glimpse at who to watch.

1 Walter Clayton (Florida)

2024-25 stats: 17.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.3 assists

Walter Clayton continues to showcase why he is one of the best players in college basketball this season, leading Florida to big success. He rides a long hot streak with big offensive outputs from all over the court, and continues to get his teammates involved as well. Watch for the Gators guard to emerge as one of the best storylines in the tournament with potential to raise his draft stock too.

2 PJ Haggerty (Memphis)

2024-25 stats: 21.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists

PJ Haggerty has been one of the best pure scorers in college basketball this season, leading Memphis to big non-conference wins early in the year before running through the AAC schedule. The NCAA Tournament will provide him with a chance to prove once again that he can produce big numbers against any level of competition. Particularly a key Memphis injury, Haggerty could need a huge output.

3 Hunter Dickinson (Kansas)

2024-25 stats: 17.6 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.3 blocks

Hunter Dickinson remains one of the most talented college basketball players on the floor, through the ups and downs of Kansas’ season. He has recently taken on an even bigger role for the group, taking over on offense. His work on the boards and ability to play defense will be key for the Jayhawks to advance.

4 Nique Clifford (Colorado State)

2024-25 stats: 21.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists

Nique Clifford has turned into one of the most well-rounded players in the country this season, knocking down shots from all over the floor while impacting the defensive end. On a major hot streak, Clifford leads his team in nearly every game. Colorado State will go as deep as he can carry them.

5 Derik Queen (Maryland)

2024-25 stats: 19.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists

Derik Queen is the most talented member of Maryland’s high-octane starting unit labeled the Crab Five. With potential to showcase his skills to NBA scouts and college basketball fans alike, he has plenty reason to hit his best form yet. Look for how he handles different types of matchups as a center in the tournament.

6 Alijah Martin (Florida)

2024-25 stats: 14.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.6 steals

Alijah Martin has been in the biggest moments before, playing a key role in FAU’s March Madness run before transferring to Florida. Since arriving, he has raised his level even higher, proving that he can compete against any competition on a consistent basis.

7 JT Toppin (Texas Tech)

2024-25 stats: 18.1 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.3 blocks

JT Toppin has established himself as a high-level college basketball big man, betting to his spots for big offensive outputs. He also plays a major role for Texas Tech on the boards and defensively as the anchor surrounded by solid perimeter defense.

8 RJ Luis (St. John’s)

2024-25 stats: 18.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists

RJ Luis is the go-to option for St. John’s throughout their historic season, continually rising to the occasion in every big moment so far. The wing scorer will do a little bit of everything for his team, giving him great potential to blossom as a March Madness star.

9 Alex Condon (Florida)

2024-25 stats: 11.2 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.4 blocks

Alex Condon is the type of versatile center that every team in basketball, whether college or NBA, is looking for to help lead them to success. He has done just that for Florida, helping facilitate while doing all the little things to clean up the game for his guards.

10 Liam McNeeley (UConn)

2024-25 stats: 14.5 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists

Liam McNeeley is one of the top NBA Draft prospects entering the NCAA Tournament, even if UConn did not reach the heights the hoped so far. The positive for the Huskies is that the freshman’s presence has provided them with the best moments so far as he shows up with his best.
