In college football’s silliest silly season yet, recruits are in the middle of a whirlwind of coaching news. The latest Internet-breaker is Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal leaving the Ducks to become the head coach at his alma mater, Miami.

It’s the 28th FBS coaching change this season, and one of the biggest (along with USC, LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame). All of those have been filled, and now Oregon skyrockets to the top of the list of available jobs. But with less than 10 days until the Early Signing Period opens, recruits are in scramble mode.

Miami’s decision to hire Cristobal will have ripple effects across college football. And namely in Eugene. The Ducks don’t appear to have a succession plan and will have to undergo a coaching search in the middle of the two biggest recruiting weeks of the year.

As news of Manny Diaz‘s firing and Cristobal’s hiring made its way around the country, recruits committed to both schools — and even ones who aren’t — reacted to the latest coaching carousel craziness.
