Things took a scary turn in the second quarter of the HawaiiBoise State game on Saturday night, when an official was having problems breathing. He collapsed on the field and was tended to by medical personnel at the game. Play was stopped for more than 15 minutes.

The back judge in the game was surrounded by several medical staff and an ambulance was brought out onto the field. The CBS Sports Network broadcast unfortunately did not have the luxury of a sideline reporter, so they were still trying to figure out more details on the incident.

They were going to put him on a stretcher, but the official stood up, walked over to the ambulance, and sat in the back of it. According to the CBS Sports Network broadcast, he will be taken to a local hospital for observation. The Hawaii–Boise State game will now move onward with one less official, since there is not another replacement on site.

It’s been a pretty wild game between Boise State and Hawaii, with players from both teams getting ejected for targeting in the first half.

Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty continues to shine

Boise State Heisman Trophy candidate Ashton Jeanty had over 100 rushing yards in the first half, but Hawaii was making him earn every bit of his yardage. At halftime, coaches from the Boise State sideline said that the run defense on Saturday night was the best they’d seen all year.

Jeanty did rip off a 54-yard touchdown run, but the Hawaii defense did do a pretty good job of bottling him up. With less than 10 minutes in the third quarter, Boise State only led Hawaii 13-7. The Broncos jumped out to an early 13-0 lead, but the Warriors managed to hang around and make things interesting for their home fans.

The Broncos managed to pull away later in the game and come out with a win, setting up a big matchup against UNLV in a few weeks. Ashton Jeanty once again proved that he’s one of the most unstoppable players in America, rolling up 31 carries for 217 rushing yards and a touchdown. In one of On3’s latest Heisman Trophy Polls–Jeanty was ranked No. 1 on that list. It’ll be exciting to see if he can make his way to New York at season’s end and hoist the coveted hardware.
