Reggie Bush picks 'primed and ready' Ohio State to beat Notre Dame in College Football Playoff Championship
Reggie Bush knows all too well what it takes to win a national championship — even if the NCAA still won’t acknowledge it.
Now, 20 years after leading the USC Trojans to a since-vacated 55-19 win over Oklahoma to claim the 2005 BCS National Championship in Miami, Bush has made his pick to win Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship Game between Ohio State and Notre Dame.
“I got to go with Ohio State in this,” Bush told On3 on Wednesday. “Because, from what I’ve seen from TreVeyon Henderson and Jeremiah Smith, their receiving corps, (Emeka) Egbuka, their quarterback (Will Howard). It just seems like they’re primed and ready.
“You know, they have everything. They’ve got the run game, they’ve got the pass game, they’ve got the quarterback. They’re getting great pressure on defense on the (opposing) backfield from their defensive ends,” Bush continued. “(JT Tuimoloau) has been balling, he’s been playing great for them on the defensive side of the football. He’s just been getting a lot of great pressure on the quarterback, and that’s what you want to see out of your defense.”

Reggie Bush: ‘Ryan Day has been waiting for this opportunity’ to prove himself to OSU fans
Bush, who’s 2005 Heisman Trophy was returned to him earlier last year, simply sees the eighth-seeded Buckeyes as too powerful to be stopped at this point, even against a Fighting Irish (14-1) squad that has won 13 straight to reach the CFP national title game.
Since stumbling in the regular-season finale against rival Michigan and seemingly backing into the College Football Playoff‘s first-ever 12-team field, Ohio State (13-2) has dominated the competition, outscoring Tennessee, Oregon and Texas by a combined score of 111-52. The Buckeyes have won each Playoff game by at least two touchdowns, including a 28-14 win over the Longhorns in last week’s Cotton Bowl national semifinal.
“It just seems like they are playing complimentary football at the right time,” Bush concluded. “Everything is driving towards them just being all in sync, hitting their stride and on all cylinders. So I feel like Ohio State is primed and ready to go win this, and Ryan Day has been waiting for this opportunity and this moment to kind of prove to Ohio State fans that he’s the right guy for the job.”
