A majority of the field for the 2026 Maui Invitational has been reported on Monday.

Per sources and then shared by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Arizona, Maryland, Notre Dame, Providence, Ole Miss, BYU, and VCU will make up the bracket for the event. An eighth and final team for the invitational has yet to be determined.

“Arizona, Maryland, Notre Dame, Providence, Ole Miss, BYU, and VCU will headline the 2026 Maui Invitational, multiple sources told College Hoops Today,” Rothstein wrote. “The eighth team in the event is currently TBD. There is no timetable on an official announcement.”

The field for this upcoming season will feature some of the best teams in the nation competing at the Lahaina Civic Center in the 40th year of the event. It includes UConn, North Carolina, Auburn, Iowa State, Michigan State, Memphis, Dayton, and Colorado. The Huskies will play the Tigers, the Buffaloes will play the Spartans, the Tigers will meet the Cyclones, and then the Flyers will face the Tar Heels in the opening round starting on November 25th. All of the dozen games, including those four, will be on ESPN through the championship on November 27th.

From there, the 2025 Maui Invitational also had its eight teams but is now down to seven. Baylor, NC State, Texas, USC, Oregon, Seton Hall, UNLV, and Chaminade were supposed be in it to compete from November 24th-26th, 2025. However, the Bears reportedly pulled out of it this offseason in favor of the Players Era Festival.

With tip-off being less than two months out for this season’s invitational, the event now has seven teams reportedly in for their field two seasons from now with one more left to join in.
