Former New York Giants tight end Evan Engram is leaving the Big Apple to head down South with the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Engram is joining the Jaguars on a one-year deal.

Engram has spent the first five seasons of his career with the New York Giants. He was selected by New York with the 23rd pick in the 2017 draft. The former Ole Miss Rebel is a true pass-catching tight end and was brought in to give them a sure-fire target at the position. Unfortunately, with all the inconsistency within the New York offense, Engram was only able to put together one season that ended with a Pro Bowl selection.

Now that he’s moved on to his new home, Engram has a chance to make a case for a long-term contract and make some good money while he is at it.

“Former Giants’ TE Evan Engram intends to sign a one-year, fully-guaranteed 9 million deal that could go to $10 with incentives with the Jacksonville Jaguars, per me and @JFowlerESPN,” wrote Schefter via Twitter.

Jacksonville adds Kirk in free agency

The Jaguars are making huge moves to surround star quarterback Trevor Lawrence with talent. On Monday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero revealed Jacksonville is bringing former Texas A&M star wide receiver Christian Kirk to the franchise.

“The #Jaguars aren’t done. They are expected to sign former #AZCardinals WR Christian Kirk to a large deal, per me and @TomPelissero,” tweeted Rapoport.

A second round selection in the 2018 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals, Kirk never materialized into the star wide receiver the franchise expected. Still, Kirk is a former five-star prospect per On3 Consensus — Jacksonville is betting on his talent.

During his three seasons with the Aggies, Kirk accumulated 234 receptions, 2,856 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns. In four seasons with the Cardinals, the former Texas A&M star amassed 236 receptions, 2,902 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.

Now, Christian Kirk will be tasked with helping Trevor Lawrence ascend to the heights he’s expected. The duo will have dreams of capturing AFC South titles for seasons to come.
