Report: Las Vegas to host College Football Playoff championship game in 2027
According to Brett McMurphy of the Action Network, Las Vegas is now set to host a future College Football Playoff national championship game, while several other cities are in the mix to host in the years following.
Here was McMurphy’s report Monday morning that Vegas will host the title game in 2027, as well as the three other cities in play to host through 2030:
“Las Vegas will host the 2027 College Football Playoff title game, while New Orleans, Dallas and Miami are negotiating to host the title games from 2028-30, sources told Action Network.”
He added, per sources:
“Supposedly, nothing is ever a ‘lock,’ but Las Vegas is a ‘lock’ to host the 2027 game,” a source told McMurphy. “It is a done deal. The College Football Playoff has been wanting to get to Vegas for years. We’ll finally get our wish.”
The game will take place at Allegiant Stadium, a domed stadium that’s home to the Las Vegas Raiders. Meanwhile, New Orleans, Dallas and Miami are in line to host the title game in the 2028, 2029 and 2030 seasons.
Currently, Miami is already set to host the CFP title game in 2026, and they also hosted in 2021. This upcoming season’s 2025 CFP championship will take place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
