Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Ny Carr is planning to withdraw from the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He will remain in Coral Gables for the 2025 season.

Ny Carr previously entered the NCAA Transfer Portal at the start of the spring window. That came following his first season with the Miami program.

Coming out of high school football at Norman Park (GA) Colquitt County, Ny Carr was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 76 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

During his freshman season, Ny Carr appeared in five games for Miami. Four of those came during the regular season while the fifth was in the team’s bowl game. That means that he will be able to use his freshman season as a redshirt season while adding some pretty good experience.

Despite that experience, Ny Carr only had one reception for eight yards. That came against Florida A&M, an FCS opponent who Miami would go on to beat 56-9. The majority of his playing time ended up coming in mop-up time when the Hurricanes were looking to run out the clock, which did limit his opportunities to make receptions as a freshman.

The Miami Hurricanes are coming off a 10-3 season. It was the program’s first 10-win season since 2017 and was by far the most successful that head coach Mario Cristobal has had since getting to the program in 2022. Much of that success became a credit to transfer quarterback Cam Ward. Now, with Ward moving on to the NFL, Miami added another veteran quarterback from the portal in Carson Beck this offseason.

The Hurricanes have often been active in the Transfer Portal under Mario Cristobal. This offseason has been no different. Miami currently has the fifth-ranked class in the On3 2025 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings. That includes the Hurricanes adding 12 players this offseason while 22 others have left the program. Notably, that still includes Ny Carr as a transfer. There is, also, more time for Miami to add more players from the portal to round out their roster and repeat the success that they found in the 2024 season.
