Report: Mississippi State transfer DL Gabe Moore commits to Nebraska
Nebraska has added a defender from the SEC out of the NCAA Transfer Portal. Former Mississippi State defensive lineman Gabe Moore has committed to the Cornhuskers, according to Max Olson.
Moore signed with Mississippi State as a three-star recruit in the class of 2023. He was ranked as the No. 94 defensive lineman in the country that year, per the On3 Industry Rankings.
Moore is joining a Nebraska program that finished with a 6-6 record during the regular season. The Cornhuskers are set to face Boston College in the Pinstripe Bowl on Dec. 28.
Moore redshirted during the 2023 season and did not see any game action. He missed all of the 2024 season with an injury.
Nebraska is looking to improve on defense in 2025 under a new defensive coordinator after Tony White left for the Florida State defensive coordinator position.

Nebraska transfer edge rusher James Williams commits to Florida State
While Nebraska added former Mississippi State defensive lineman Gabe Moore from the transfer portal, the Cornhuskers recently lost EDGE James Williams to Florida State.
Williams played 16 games at Nebraska. He had 18 tackles and seven sacks in those games.
Williams was unrated as a high school prospect in the 2022 signing class, playing at Park Hill (Mo.) High School. He played a season of JUCO football before ending up with the Cornhuskers for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Williams joins a Florida State program that is now re-shuffling the deck after a disappointing 2024 campaign, which should mean plenty of opportunity. He’s also following defensive coordinator Tony White from Nebraska to Tallahassee, where White is now the DC for the Seminoles.
The Seminoles had been in the market for a new defensive coach after Adam Fuller was dismissed last month, before he was able to finish his fifth season as the Florida State defensive coordinator. With the hire of White, Mike Norvell landed a premier, lauded coach for the position.
