Thomas Castellanos, one of the top quarterbacks in the transfer portal, has set one of his first visits with more to potentially come from there.

Per Zach Blostein of Noles247 first, Castellanos will visit Florida State later this week from Wednesday to Thursday. Since then, Castellanos has confirmed those plans for Wednesday with Warchant. With that, he is also, per Blostein, in discussions to visit two schools in the SEC with Missouri and Vanderbilt.

Castellanos was one of the first players to plan to enter the portal with how his season ended at Boston College. After being replaced by Grayson James with the Golden Eagles, he stepped away from the team and had intentions to enter his name in the following day back in mid-November. He has since officially been in as of today with the opening of the portal at midnight last night.

Castellanos spent the past two seasons with Boston College after starting his college career at UCF. While in Chestnut Hill, Castellanos was one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks in the country as he was 288-491 (58.7%) when passing for 3,614 yards, 33 touchdowns, and 19 interceptions while rushing for 1,307 yards and 14 more scores. Add that up and, in 21 appearances with BC, he posted an average of 234.4 yards per game with 47 total touchdowns.

Florida State is reportedly a possible destination, if not a likelier one, this offseason for Castellanos, including by On3’s Pete Nakos. The Seminoles are in need of a quarterback after how this season went with DJ Uiagalelei, Brock Glenn, and Luke Kromenhoek. They also now have a connection to him on staff with the hiring of Guz Malzahn, who he committed to out of high school and was his coach for a year with the Knights, as their new offensive coordinator.

Mizzou and Vandy are also involved in the quarterback market out of the SEC. Brady Cook is out of eligibility after five seasons with the Tigers and, as of now, Diego Pavia is as well after his lone year with the Commodores.

Castellanos is one of the better quarterbacks available in this current portal cycle. He’ll now begin to look for his third program with him starting this week in Tallahassee before possibly looking around in the Southeastern Conference.
