Report: UConn transfer hearing from multiple Division I schools
Former four-star recruit Rahsool Diggins has heard from multiple Division I schools since announcing his intentions to transfer from UConn last week. The list includes teams like Penn State, Xavier, Georgia, Temple, UMass, Pitt, Iona, VCU, Rhode Island and FGCU, according to reports.
Diggins played sparingly all season, appearing in just nine games and playing a total of 46 minutes while averaging 0.8 points, 0.3 assists and never grabbed a rebound during his Husky career. He scored seven total points during his freshman campaign, three of which came in a game that saw Diggins notch a career-high 12 minutes against Grambling State.
While Diggins was a highly-coveted four-star recruit out of high school in the 2021 class, he seemed overwhelmed against the Huskies’ competition, contributing to his limited minutes and not being able to separate himself from the pack in practice to earn more opportunities.
Diggins held offers from Villanova, Florida, Kansas and Miami, among others coming out of high school.

Bueckers, the 2021 women’s national player of the year who has led UConn to the Women’s Final Four, will be the first student-athlete brand ambassador for the education platform Chegg.
Bueckers and Chegg will work to draw awareness to the issue of student hunger. A report from Chegg.org shows 32% of college students surveyed reported they had suffered from food insecurity since the start of the pandemic. Chegg said the report’s findings mirror the larger food insecurity crisis exacerbated by the pandemic and structural inequalities.
“As a college sophomore balancing so many things, I’ve always appreciated Chegg’s commitment to meeting students where they are and supporting them in a meaningful way,” Bueckers said in a news release. “I’m thrilled to become Chegg’s first student-athlete brand ambassador and for this opportunity to help in the fight against food insecurity which affects too many of my peers and 12 million kids in the U.S.”
