Revealing most-watched games of the 2022 college football season through Week 4
College football is unique among American sports. Most American sports are professional leagues with a limited number of teams. This means that there are a limited number of games in a given week to watch. However, in the college game, there are 131 teams at the FBS level. Simply put, there are too many games in a given weekend to watch.
This means that when a game catches the attention of the college football world, it really has to catch everyone’s attention. These are the ten games that were able to do that. These are the games that have been the most watched through Week 4 of the 2022 season.

Also of note, with the exception of the Clemson-Georgia Tech game, every one of these games involved at least one team from the SEC or Big Ten. On top of that, the Clemson-Georgia Tech game was the only game on TV during its time slot. It was one of the Week 1 games not held on Saturday. Another interesting game is the Week 0 game between Nebraska and Northwestern. While these are Big Ten schools, neither is particularly good. However, being the only game on got people’s attention.
Notably, Tennessee and Ohio State are the only two teams to appear twice on the top-ten list. That’s what a good out-of-conference game and early conference opponent can do for a team.
Also of note, the only college football game not on the ESPN or Fox family of networks to make the top ten was the Florida-Tennessee game on CBS.
