Georgia lost a bevy of receiving talent to the 2024 NFL Draft, including tight end Brock Bowers and wideouts Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint and Ladd McConkey.

That means Carson Beck will have to find a new favorite target this season. To preview the wide receiving corps ahead of the 2024 season, Dawgs HQ’s Jake Rowe joined Kaiden Smith at the On3 Roundtable to reveal who those targets are expected to be.

“Let’s start with the guy that was the third-leading receiver, kind of behind those two last year,” Rowe told Smith. “I guess it was Georgia’s second leading receiver with all the injuries that [Ladd] McConkey and that’s Dominic Lovett. He’s kind of been that Alpha. Transfer from Missouri prior to last season, he’s kind of been the guy working there in the slot. Think he’s probably expanding his role a little bit too, probably working a little bit of that flanker, Z receiver position

“He’s a guy that, going all the way back to spring, he was the one you heard about the most consistently.”

While Lovett has appeared to seperate himself from the pack, Rowe expects a strong season from receiver Colbie Young, a transfer from Miami who put up nearly 1,000 receiving yards for the Hurricanes over the past two seasons.

Row named Anthony Evans III, who played in five games last season, has unique speed and is a potential candidate for minutes heading into his sophomore season. He also sees high upside for Vanderbilt transfer London Humphreys.

“Humphreys has created a little bit of buzz,” Rowe said. “A transfer in from Vanderbilt, speedster at 6-foot-2, hit Georgia with a big 47-yard touchdown catch last year. I’m sure that kind of caught their eye. So he’s another guy that stepped up, too. Anthony Evans, a sophomore, a guy that Georgia signed in the 2023 class, one of the fastest players in the country.

“And then obviously as far as in-house guys they brought over from last year, Dillon Bell didn’t put big numbers. But Dillon Bell had a really good run there late in the season. I think that that’s a guy that Georgia fans know who he is, but as far as the nation goes, I think he’s probably in for a breakout season.”

Bulldogs fans will get a first look at Beck’s new targets when No. 1 Georgia kicks off its 2024 regular seaosn against No. 14 Clemson in Atlanta. Kickoff is scheduled for Noon ET live on ABC and ESPN+.
