Robert Griffin III, Emmanuel Acho react to Arch Manning touchdown run with playful jab at Manning family
Texas fans held their breath for a bit after Quinn Ewers went down with an injury. He is out for the rest of the game with a strained abdomen, cheering on his teammates on the sideline in street clothes. Arch Manning has since taken over and made quite the impression.
Manning’s impact was an instant one, being a part of two touchdowns in just three plays. The latter was all him, rushing for a 67-yard score in open space. He even juked out a UTSA defender before pulling away in the second level due to his speed, reaching 20.7 miles per hour.
Well, the run from Manning brought some jokes out on social media. Not at the expense of the Texas starting quarterback but instead his family members. None of Peyton, Eli, or maybe even Archie are safe from comments being made about their rushing ability.
“BREAKING: 67 YARD TOUCHDOWN RUN FOR ARCH MANNING!! This has to be the longest touchdown run in Manning Family history! Arch got all the athleticism!” FOX’s Emmanuel Acho said via X.

Former ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III got in on the action as well, calling Arch Manning “a brother from a different mother” due to the touchdown run.
“Arch Manning got EVERY OUNCE of Manning athleticism in the UNIVERSE and some,” Griffin said via X. “He a brother from a different mother.”
Of the three previous Manning quarterbacks, Archie was known as the athlete. He finished three yards short over 2,200 in his NFL career over 13 years. If you combine the rushing totals of Peyton and Eli, they are around 1,000 yards short of their father.
Now, athleticism cannot fully be determined by rushing yards. But when watching Arch in open space on Saturday against UTSA and reflecting on what his two uncles looked like in the NFL, Acho and Griffin decided to have some jokes at the ready.
There is a chance Arch Manning will have a few more opportunities to showcase his dual-threat ability for Texas moving forward. At the time of writing, what we know about the Ewers injury is it’s a strained abdomen. Head coach Steve Sarkisian revealed as such during halftime.
Manning might be in line to start next week for the Longhorns when they face Louisiana-Monroe. If multiple weeks of recovery are required for Ewers, Mississippi State is the program’s first-ever SEC game before heading into a bye week.
