Robert Griffin III reacts to Texas road win vs. Michigan
Robert Griffin III came away highly impressed with Texas after the Longhorns defeated defending national champion Michigan on Saturday. The former Baylor QB and Heisman winner took to social media following the 31-12 victory with a short but sweet statement.
“Texas,” he wrote on X. “5 star players. With 5 star culture.”
Quinn Ewers led the Longhorns to the win with 246 yards passing and three touchdowns with no interceptions. He is getting off to a hot start to the season as it appears early on that Texas should again challenge for a College Football Playoff spot.
Texas was dominant from start to finish on Saturday in Ann Arbor, jumping out to a 24-3 lead by halftime. In addition to Ewers, the Longhorns also got a big day out of their defense, which did not allow a touchdown until there was 1:54 remaining.
Texas forced three turnovers from the Wolverines and limited them to under 100 yards rushing. It’s a victory that certainly sends a message just two weeks before they are set to enter SEC play.

Quinn Ewers describes the emotions of beating Michigan with his Ohio State background
The only ones pleased with Saturday’s result more than Texas fans are people in Columbus. Watching Michigan lose on a national stage is every Ohio State fan’s dream, especially if one of their own is leading the way. Former Buckeyes quarterback Quinn Ewers delivered for Texas today, earning a huge win for the program.
Following the game, Ewers described the emotion of beating Michigan after spending some time at Ohio State. Despite being away for a few years, the rivalry between the two Big Ten schools still resonates with him. You have to imagine a lot of former players and teammates are happy with Ewers’ play to knock off the Wolverines.
“I understand the rivalry that Ohio State has with Michigan,” Ewers said. “To kind of carry that along through the week. Again, I understand how it goes. It’s definitely cool coming back here because the last time I was here, it didn’t go which team’s way I was on.”
