The 2024 college football season is fully underway, and fans got their first full slate of Saturday action of games across the country. And we got one of the best plays of the year when Robert Morris defender Rob Carter Jr. skied for an unreal interception, when he snatched it with one hand, completely rotating in mid-air as he brought it in.

That’s a play that will be tough to top the rest of the 2024 season, no doubt about it. What an incredibly acrobatic play by Carter. It’ll be the most attention Robert Morris will get all college football season, but wow, what a catch. Rob Carter, Jr. cemented his name in Colonial program history forever with that one.

While Robert Moris had the highlight of the year, Utah State got the win on Saturday, a 36-14 win. Utah State got over 200 all-purpose yards from their quarterback Bryson Barnes. He finished with over 200 all-purpose yards, three total touchdowns, and one interception.

Utah State also had a big game from Kyrese White, who hauled in three catches for 131 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Robert Morris receiver Cole Mitchell hauled in four catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. They also got a solid performance from Tyvon Edmonds, Jr. He had 19 carries for 86 yards. Robert Morris quarterback Anthony Chiccitt completed 22 of his 30 passes for 171 yards, while tossing in one touchdown with one interception.

Robert Morris drops to 0-1 on the 2024 season. Utah State moves to 1-0 this year.

Next up for the Colonials, they’ll face off against Edinboro. Utah State will have to face off against USC and one of the most explosive playmakers in America in Trojans’ receiver, Zachariah Branch. The Trojans are currently ranked No. 23 in America, but they will have to face off against LSU on Sunday night. That one is projected to be a high scoring affair.
